At Columbia College, Northwestern, North Park, Loyola, DePaul

For several years, Rob served as Adjunct Faculty at Columbia College, crafting the next round of killer copywriters.  His teaching on copy fundamentals and the importance of integrated marketing incorporate aspects of the real world, and the key to ‘selling’ — internally and externally. Rob has lectured at Northwestern University, Loyola, DePaul, and North Park College on the realities of marketing in a world with far more messaging opportunities, and an ability to ensure ‘brand-vangelists’ take up the cause.

Topics of Rob’s teaching and lectures have included:

  • Mr. Whipple, to Aisle 4 — Luke Sullivan’s Copybook and Translation to Retail
  • Linguistics & Ad Copy: A White-Guys view of the World
  • Choose, but Choose Wisely:  Tactical Mix is a Creative Job Too

“I have brought Rob in for a wide range of Columbia College events…. [Rob] happens to be darn clever and particularly good at this advertising thing. I trust Rob’s opinions and value his expertise. He is generous and gracious in helping out young talent. I’ve heard from more than a few students how much their experience in meeting with Rob helped them in their careers. If only I had a writer as good as Rob to write this recommendation…trust me, you’d be sold!”
